The purpose of the Emergency Department volunteer program at Modbury Hospital is to work in partnership with paid staff of the Department, to enhance the quality of the ‘Emergency Department Experience’ for patients as well as the relatives and friends of the patient.

We are currently recruiting volunteers to help with the coordination of Driver and Deliverer teams.

Meals on Wheels assist many people in the community to live independently in their own homes by providing a high quality meal delivery service. Our Burnside Branch is seeking a volunteer or volunteers to provide administration support Monday to Friday from 7.30am until 1.30pm. The role of the biographer is to record the life stories, reflections, reviews of certain times or life events and tributes to loved ones. They need to be able to build rapport quickly, know how to get the best out of patients who might struggle telling their stories, have a good understanding of the palliative care philosophy, and present a legacy for the patient and their families to keep.
