Each Tuesday we take a minivan full of seniors to locations around Melbourne for a day out with friends. The role includes picking up and dropping off clients from their homes, driving to and from the destination and having fun along the way. Please note, you'll be accompanied by a staff member at all times. Full training and ongoing support provided.

Want to make a difference in the life of a young person? 1-2 hours a week is all it takes! The Merri-bek TAC L2P Program assists young learner drivers (aged between 16-21) who have no access to a supervising driver or vehicle, to gain the driving experience required to apply for a probationary licence. Volunteer mentors support young people to gain supervised driving experience in an L2P car - no cost to young people or volunteers. Volunteers undertake comprehensive VicRoads training.

We are seeking volunteers who enjoy the company of seniors, have a happy disposition, possess a current Light Rigid licence and are confident in driving an 18-seater bus. Staff will accompany the residents on outings. To enable consistency for our residents, this role is suited for volunteers who can commit 2.5 hours on a regular basis (ideally weekly, but fortnightly possible) on Thursday mornings.

As you may imagine the lock down was a lonely time, so we have created some new volunteer roles to help reduce social isolation and help the elderly who live independently to reconnect back into the community.
