About this opportunity
Mission to Seafarers is a faith based organisation and volunteers without a faith background are welcome to get involved with a commitment to the ethos of the organisation.
For safety reasons, this role is most suitable for volunteers mature male volunteers.
Opportunities include:
DRIVER Friendly people mover to drive visitors to various tourist destinations, shopping centres and events in Townsville. A "C" class licence, confidence driving a large van and local area knowledge is essential.
SHOP This opportunity includes retail tasks such as use cash register and eftpos and restocking shelves to sell goods, in a port canteen serving visiting seafarers and port workers. Suitable for a volunteer with empathy and ability to communicate with international seafarers. Good oral communication skills and basic computer skills essential.
HANDYMAN / CLEANER / GARDENER The shop is exposed to all the elements of a busy port and we require the services of a cleaner/maintenance/gardener volunteer to help keep everything sparkling clean and in working order to provide a safe and comfortable space for seafarers.

Covid-19 vaccination . Driver's Licence (C) . Flu vaccination . National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
4 hr Shifts between 10am and 10pm - 7days per week
Basic Computer Skills
Retail Experience and able to use Cash Registers
Suitable for recently retired people
4 hr shifts. 10am - 2pm; 2pm - 6pm; and 6pm - 10pm
