Outpost Worker | Day General Support
About this opportunity
The power of hello! Join us serving those experiencing homelessness or simply needing support with a daily meal shared between a community of their peers.
Volunteers will assist clients by cheerfully serving pre-arranged hot nutritional meals and drinks and listening without judgement. For many of those who are served at The Outpost this may be the most meaningful conversation held in any given day and we treasure this opportunity. Part of the position includes distributing blankets, hygiene products and other items as available.
All volunteers need to be open minded and comfortable relating to others in various situations as an impartial person. To complete the shift there is always the general tidy up. The Outpost operates 365 nights a year; day shifts run from 10:00am - 2:00pm each Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Join our team on a regular, fortnightly, or monthly basis to give back to our great community and all people within it.
