Volunteer Visitors - Pooch Group

Seniors & Aged Care Regular - more than 6 months Esperance WA

About this opportunity

Do you have a beautiful friendly dog and some time to commit once a fortnight on a Thursday? The Community Visitor Pooch group is a small group who go to the Nursing Home with their dogs to visit with the residents.

Esperance Home Care in conjunction with The Esperance Nursing Home is looking for volunteers and their friendly canine companions to join a group that meets at the Nursing Home every other Thursday.

The sessions lasts for about an hour, with volunteers and their pooches chatting with residents of the Home, some of which have degenerative diseases including dementia.

Prior to attending you and your dog would need to have an interview to ensure suitability for the program. We are looking for volunteers who can regularly commit to the fortnightly visit
