About this opportunity
The Bethanie Peel team values your contribution and will strive to pair you with residents who share similar interests and backgrounds. Your time spent with residents will help reduce social isolation and will allow residents the opportunity to engage in discussion and activities that are meaningful to them. Activities are flexible but may include: • reading to the resident or engaging them in card games/board games • reminiscing with the resident and sharing stories • discussing common interests • participating in low-impact activities associated with residents’ interests • taking individual residents for an outdoor walk within the facility grounds. The 1-1 social visits assist to reduce social isolation and to establish meaningful on-going friendships.

Monday - Sunday, activities commence around 9am and finish at around 4:30pm. This role is flexible based on volunteer availability.

Volunteers are required to undertake a 25-minute online Infection Prevention & Control training.
ReimbursementWe will cover the expense of obtaining a volunteer police clearance (through our preferred provider)
