Community Shed Assistant
About this opportunity
Help us give back to the community by volunteering in our Community Shed! You'll be assisting learners with the planning and construction of their woodwork projects - under the guidance of our Community Shed Facilitator. Specific day required: Wednesday afternoons.
Key Responsibilities
• Ability to use hand and power tools • A keen interest in woodwork and building projects • Enjoy working with people of all ages, cultures and abilities • Good understanding of OH&S procedures • Follow direction of the Supervisor/Facilitator
Personal Requirements
• Enjoy practical work • Good hand/eye coordination • Good communication skills • Able to work as part of a team
General Accountability
• Ensuring that your duties are carried out correctly under OH&S standards • Report to the Volunteer Coordinator and/or Chief Executive Officer regarding the activities of Glen Park Community Centre Inc. and any opportunities for development.
After registration there will be an induction/trial then a probationary period of one (1) month.

Heavy Lifting . Working with Children Check *.
Experience in hand and power tools is not essential but would help with the position.

ReimbursementVolunteers are not required to have any out of pocket expenses. Any reimbursement will be in line with the Centre's Staff Reimbursement Policy.
