About this opportunity

The Bilby Toy Library is a program of Berkeley Vale Neighbourhood Centre Inc and runs entirely on the funds it gets from membership, as well as the dedication and interest of staff and volunteers at the Centre. It’s a great local resource for families, grandparents and anyone caring for kids five years and under. The role is located at Bateau Bay Neighbourhood Centre.

This role gives our volunteer the opportunity to support local families and children.

As you volunteer each week, you will be responsible for: • Be a friendly welcoming face for families as they enter the toy library • Loaning and returning toys into our simple to use database system • Check toy pieces against the printed label to make sure all pieces are there and that they are clean, ready for the next borrow • Reunite missing parts using our spares cupboard • Cutting and sticking new labels to toys • Laminating instruction sheets • Develop knowledge of the toy library collection and help members choose toys for their children • Tidying the shelves and picking up after our little ‘test players’ • Cataloguing toys • Perform other tasks as requested by the toy library session lead

The successful candidate will have:

  3. Capacity to relate to a diverse range of people
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9.30am to 2.30pm
