Volunteer Bus Driver - Abri Grove Residential Aged Care (Southport)
About this opportunity
The Role
Our team, based in Southport, offer a number of services including group outings and activities for our residents. To maintain these essential services, we require the support of volunteers, and are currently looking for a Volunteer Driver to support our staff with the transporting of residents to and from social outings on Thursdays and Fridays.
You will be driving a 8 seater vehicle which can be done on a standard car licence.
Skills & Qualities
- A current Qld Drivers Licence, with a clean driving history
- A genuine interest in people and making a difference in their lives
- A friendly personality and good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to develop rapport and interact positively with clients
- Understand and respect confidentiality and privacy of clients and Anglicare
- Maintain professional boundaries and work within the policies and procedures of Anglicare
- Work with limited supervision and be able to take direction when required
- Reliable, flexible and motivated to make a difference
- Respect, care and courtesy towards others
Expectations
- Volunteer Training – this mandatory training must be completed prior to starting first volunteer shift (paper-based and face to face training modules).
- Availability – at least one shift (4 hours) per week between 8am and 3pm on Thursdays and Fridays.
- Consistency and reliability – willing to commit to an ongoing basis.
- Confidentiality & Professional Boundaries– this is critical to us and you will need to sign a Statement of Agreement.
- Two (2) referees – who are not relatives and can verify your character and interaction in the community (ie. Work Colleague, Church Elder, Community Leader, Doctor or other Professional).
- National Police Certificate – undergo a national police check and we will coordinate and pay for this to be processed
- Provide Covid 19 vaccination evidence (atleast 2 shots)
