About this opportunity

Position Summary :

The Fundraiser volunteer will manage online campaigns from conception, design, social media promotion, ordering and distribution, attend weekly online fundraising meetings, reporting and gaining approval for any expenses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Send emails to stores to organise fundraising events such as BBQ's (templates provided)
  • Co-ordinate all fundraising activities, including online raffles, social media campaigns, design templates for advertising.
  • Attend weekly team meeting
  • Research suitable online products to raise money for Furry Friends
  • Make and manage a campaign calendar for 6 months, setting weekly goals and tasks
  • Liaise with social media team to organise schedules for posting infographics and posts for social media channels such as Facebook and Instagram
  • Advise Social Media team members of campaigns and liaise with them to coordinate promotions
  • Follow existing instructions and update instruction manuals as necessary
  • Order Cadbury chocolates and organise distribution
  • Ensure food safety standards are meet
  • Attend fundraising meetings and activities (approx once very three months)
  • set up online raffle

As this role is primarily virtual or home-based, you will need (at your own expense): a reliable computer, mobile phone, internet and antivirus; as well as a Facebook Messenger account (or the ability to create an account).

All volunteers within Furry Friends must have integrity; respect for others and their time; and a passion to contribute to their role and the overarching goals of the team.

Applicants must be in QLD and be eligible to live and work in Australia.

Applicants must be aged 18 or over.

Time Required

Minimum 5 hours per week. We ask all volunteers to commit to 6 months minimum, as the onboarding process and training requires time to prepare for the role.

  • Some event and/or fundraising experience preferred
  • Suits students in event management (not essential)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport
  • Own transport

Time Required

Ongoing, minimum 6-month commitment. Approximately 3-5 hours per week. More will be provided for Centrelink MO applicants.
