About this opportunity

It takes a special person to work in aged care. We want the best people and we work hard to keep them so our residents have a consistent, experienced presence in their lives. Volunteers are key to our program and to enriching people’s daily living with their experience and skills.

We are seeking volunteers to assist on a weekday morning in our social support programs. Our social support programs are held every day Monday to Friday and include various opportunities to join groups such as our coffee and chat, gallery/museum groups, craft, woodworking, men’s shed and walking groups and one to one companionship

As a Dementia volunteer, you will: develop new skills and gain new experiences have social interaction and share experiences with like-minded people gain a better understanding of dementia and the help available build your confidence to engage and support people living with dementia

Orientation, training and ongoing support. Training includes hand hygiene, manual handling, fire safety and compulsory reporting.
