Program description:

The Orygen Assist program provides essential items including non-perishable foods, clothing, and hygiene products to young people & their families. This role provides in-person support for the running of our Orygen Assist drop-in space at Parkville.

The position will work within the Orygen Assist volunteer team to provide front-facing assistance to young people and their families at the Parkville drop-in, as well as administrative support for the operational running of the service.

Job description:

  • Provide assistance to young people, families and clinicians who visit the Parkville drop-in.
  • Foster a welcoming and judgement-free environment for young people and their families who are accessing the service.
  • Review and prepare online orders.
  • Manage stock levels, displays and general tidiness of the drop in space

Skills, experience and/or qualifications needed:

  • Excellent rapport building and communication skills.
  • Ability to relate to diverse groups of people and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Reliability
  • Personal organisational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and contribute new ideas

Time Required: 3 hours per week/fortnight.

Available volunteer shifts: Mon to Fri, 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm.

Other requirements:

  • Have the right to live and work in Australia.
  • A current National Police Check (within the last 12 months).
  • A Working with Children Check.

Time Required

3 hours per week/fortnight, available shifts: Mon-Fri, 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm.
