Joust Coordinator
About this opportunity
A Joust Coordinator is required in the months leading up to and at the Abbey Medieval Festival to be held on 5, 6 & 7 July 2024.
The Abbey Museum welcomes thousands of visitors to our Medieval Festival to experience life in the Middle Ages in Europe and the Middle East, from 600 to 1600AD.
The Abbey Medieval Festival would not be what it is today without the generosity of our volunteer community. We require a friendly and enthusiastic Joust Coordinator to manage the volunteers in the team.
Duties include:
- Communicating with volunteers in your team
- Advising the volunteers on the roles they are assigned to
- Building a roster for the volunteers for the Festival
- Attending the Volunteer Inductions and showing the joust area to the team
Key skills required include:
- Excellent communication and organisational skills would be required as well as good administration and computer skills (mainly Word and Excel).
- Able to work well in a team as well as autonomously.
- Excellent time management skills and show initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure by remaining calm in stressful situations.
Additional requirements
Driver's Licence .
Must be available to attend Festival meetings on 13 April, 4 May & 8 June, Must be available on the Volunteer Induction afternoons on Saturday 8 & 15 June 2024. Must be available on the Festival weekend 5-7 July 2024. Hours and times prior to this are flexible.
