Recreation Regular - more than 6 months North Lakes QLD

About this opportunity

Would you like to meet new people and take an active role in helping your community members to improve their physical health, mental wellbeing and social connections?

An established walking group is looking for you!

Heart Foundation Walking is seeking a volunteer to lead the well established Westfield North Lakes Shopping Centre Walking Group every Wednesday morning at 7 am, ending with an optional coffee and chat.

Walk Organisers need no prior experience and will receive full training and support from the Heart Foundation.

Heart Foundation Walking is Australia’s largest FREE walking network. It is a social, fun and easy way for people to walk and be active.

With more than one in four Australian adults doing very little or no exercise at all, Heart Foundation Walking is a great way to help people increase their physical activity.

Heart Foundation Walking is designed to help people enjoy regular physical activity. As well as the physical benefits, walking as part of a group can benefit your mental health too!

Over the past 25 years more than 100,000 Australians have participated in a Heart Foundation Walking group, with over 90% of participants staying active after six months of joining.

Walk Organisers come from all walks of life (no pun intended!) and all regions across the country. It is a free, social and fun way to get healthy!
