What we are looking for: Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to the values and standards of the organization. Your role as a surf lifesaver will ensure the safety of beachgoers and educate the community on the importance of beach safety, ultimately fostering a safer and more informed public.

Membership for active (Patrolling) members who complete their required Patrol obligations is free (and for their family members) and have free access to the Club's gym and other equipment. Training courses are run throughout the year and are free to current active members and membership categories.

​You do not need to hold a Bronze medallion to be an active Patrolling member. Other qualifications, such as first aid or radio operator, can be gained depending on your ability. These will allow you to join a patrol group, wear the Red and Yellow uniform, and become part of Australia’s most iconic volunteer organisation.

Our volunteer members are dedicated to patrolling the beach during the season from late September until late April on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.

​To be an active Patrolling member, you do not need to hold a Bronze medallion; other qualifications can be gained depending on your ability, such as First aid or radio operator. These will allow you to join a patrol group, wear the Red and Yellow uniform, and become part of Australia’s most iconic volunteer organisation.

Time Required

Our volunteer members are dedicated to patrolling the beach during the season from late September until late April on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. You would work on a rotation basis approximately once a month. You would be required to volunteer on a Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday.
