Legacy Visitor Program - Sydney Metro - #209072

Veteran Services Regular - less than 6 months Sydney NSW

About this opportunity

Legacy is seeking volunteers to provide companionship and friendship to older people in their community through the Legacy Visitor Program. At Legacy, volunteers are matched with older widows/widowers (also known as beneficiaries) who have lost their spouse after serving the country. These visits have an important impact on the older person’s life, as they enhance social and emotional wellbeing, supporting positive mental health and meaningful connection to community.

Volunteers are matched with people based on location and shared interests. A matched volunteer will aim to visit for 1 hour, once a fortnight in the older person’s home. Visits will take place at a mutually agreed upon time between you and the beneficiary. You will have access to on-call support from the Community Services Worker.

Volunteers are required to undergo a Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check at no cost.
