About this opportunity

This compassionate and rewarding volunteer role provides support to patients in the rehabilitation ward at Hollywood Hospital. You will be contributing to a positive and encouraging dining experience that promotes their recovery and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with dining: Help patients navigate the dining room, access meals, and position themselves comfortably for eating
  • Promote social interaction: Engage patients in friendly conversation, create a welcoming atmosphere, and encourage interaction between patients.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive environment
  • Follow patient care plans: Be aware of patients' dietary restrictions and preferences, and report any changes in appetite or eating habits to staff.
  • Respect patient privacy and confidentiality: Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all privacy regulations.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment: Collaborate effectively with staff and other volunteers to ensure smooth operations in the dining room.

National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.

Time Required

Volunteers are asked to commit to one shift a week for a minimum of 6 months. Shifts are available Monday - Friday from 10am-2pm
