ADMINISTRATION AND COMMUNICATION VOLUNTEER

About this opportunity

CCOEI is seeking a volunteer to assist the Secretary. The Position Description is as follows:

  1. Database Maintenance:

    • Update and maintain the organization's database with accurate and current information.
    • Assist in organizing and categorizing data for efficient retrieval.
  2. Newsletter Editing and Publishing:

    -Compile community events monthly, create or collate submitted content

    • Edit and proofread content for the online community newsletter, ensuring clarity, coherence, and adherence to the organization's messaging.
  3. Social Media Management:

    • Manage and update social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to enhance online presence.
    • Create engaging content to promote community events, initiatives, and relevant updates.
  4. Assistance in Event Organization:

    • Collaborate with the secretary in planning and organizing monthly community events.
    • Assist in communicating event details to the community and coordinating logistical aspects.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in content writing and editing.
  • Familiarity with WordPress for website content management.
  • Experience with Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team entirely of volunteers.
  • A police check will be required.

Time Required

The work can be done from home on a computer. Preparing a newsletter about 4 hours Maintaining database about 1 hour Help at MSC Meetings about 3 hours General adminstration about 4 hours Total in a month approximately 14 hours i.e: 3.5 hours a week.
