Aged Care Volunteer Visitor for engaging chats in Chermside (Cooper House)

Seniors & Aged Care Regular - more than 6 months Chermside QLD

About this opportunity

Wesley Mission Queensland's Aged Care Volunteer Visitor program aims to brighten the lives of older people living in residential aged care who may be socially isolated or lonely due to a lack of quality time with relatives, for cultural reasons or due to disability.

We are looking for friendly people who are interested in making a difference in the lives of our community’s seniors by regularly visiting and being a social friend to individuals living in residential aged care in Chermside.

In the role of Aged Care Volunteer Visitor, you will assist in ensuring older people can remain actively engaged and inspired daily. Quality time shared can include chatting, playing cards or board games, working on a hobby together, or discussing the local news. You might take a stroll around the facility (mobility permitting), have a cuppa, or do a crossword together.

Aged Care Volunteer Visitors are not involved in providing clinical or personal care to the people they visit.

Wesley Mission Queensland is a welcoming and rewarding place to volunteer, where you will meet many wonderful people and learn new skills that may assist you personally and professionally. There are lots of other benefits to volunteering with us as well, such as:
