Community Transport Driver - Maitland
About this opportunity
The position is part of a team of volunteer drivers, who provide essential transport services to the frail, aged and those with disabilities, their carers, and others who are transport disadvantaged.
- Drivers use MCCS’s fleet of well-kept, branded vehicles. The role delivers a door-through-door service. This includes assisting clients from door into/out of vehicle.
- Drivers may also be required to assist with walkers, wheelchairs and the like. Carers sometimes accompany clients.
- In addition to the transport, the service provides highly valued incidental social interaction with our clients.
- Driver’s “run” for the day is scheduled in advance by MCCS’ Customer Service Office. Trip details are communicated through fitted, in-vehicle transport specific devices.
- MCCS’ Transport Service is a high quality professional service where volunteer drivers are trained and supported and vehicles maintained to meet high quality safety and accreditation standards of the NSW Passenger Transport Act (2014).
- MCCS highly values the contribution that our Volunteers make. We provide all our volunteers with uniform/PPE, access to lunchroom facilities, training and support, regular communication, and periodic meetings and social events.

Covid-19 vaccination . Driver's Licence . NDIS screening check . Working with Children Check *.
This role has flexibility in timing. You would be able to nominate regular day/s for the role to assist in scheduling. Days and hours will be discussed with each volunteer.

ReimbursementUniform and PPE provided. Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed. Free annual flu vaccination.
