E-Waste and Chemical Support Volunteer

About this opportunity

If you have good customer service and communication skills and are prepared to work outdoors in a hands-on role in a waste environment, this could be the right volunteer role for you.

As an E-waste and Chemical Support Volunteer, you will provide advise and assist members of the public when dropping off their recycling at a self-service E-waste drop-off facility, located at the Council Depot.

In this role you would be expected to represent Council in a professional manner, wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and attend mandatory training as directed, and comply with relevant Council WH&S policies and procedures.

By volunteering as an E-waste and Chemical Support Volunteer, you will be contributing to a highly valued service for the community.

The facility is open Monday to Friday 8AM to 3PM and we would encourage you to speak to us about your availability today. Centrelink Mutual Obligations requirements can be met.

Requirements:

  • Wear all PPE (personal protective equipment) at all times including steel cap boots, high vis attire, long sleeve top, pants, hat and sunscreen (provided by Council)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to stand for periods of time
  • Prepared to work outdoors in a hands-on role in a waste environment

Time Required

The E-waste and Chemical drop of facility is open Monday to Friday 8AM to 3PM and volunteer hours will be agreed on between the volunteer and the Depot and E-Waste and Chemical Coordinator.
