Gone Fishing!

Community Services Regular - more than 6 months Across: Highett VIC, Moorabbin VIC, Cheltenham NSW

About this opportunity

If you would like to connect with older people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you!

This role offers volunteers:

  • An opportunity to gain experience in the aged care sector
  • An opportunity to make a positive impact in your community and in the life of someone else
  • Supervision and opportunities for learning and development

Pete describes himself as a bit of a loner, he recently moved to Cheltenham from regional Victoria and is feeling a bit lost. He enjoys swimming, fishing and going out for coffee or a pub lunch. He would like a volunteer to visit him, and ultimately go fishing together, a coffee and a chat at a cafe or going out to lunch at the local pub.

If you have an interest in supporting people 65+ to reconnect with their interests and community please apply!

We offer opportunities in skill and knowledge development, as well as ongoing support and mentoring. Good communications skills and the ability to work independently are a must. Having a driver’s licence/access to own vehicle is highly desired but not essential. We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities.
