About this opportunity

If you’re interested in connecting with older people who are socially isolated, we’d love to hear from you! We’re looking for Volunteers who are creative thinkers and committed to supporting people live their best lives. Volunteers who can support older people with their goals around staying independent, healthy and connected to their community.

You may be interested in a connection with Christine, who has been described as thoughtful and kind, although she can be a little shy upon first meeting. She enjoys going to church each morning, meeting people reading and watching the bold and the beautiful.

Connecting with *Christine may involve visiting her at home, a chat over the phone, meeting for coffee and/or sharing a skill. It might involve checking out what’s on offer at a local neighbourhood centre, library or an activity of interest.

We offer opportunities in skill and knowledge development, as well as ongoing support and mentoring. As a Uniting Volunteer you’ll be able to access our online learning library with over 200 courses on offer. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently are a must. Having a driver’s license/access to own vehicle is highly desired but not essential We value diversity in lived experience, language, skills and abilities.
