Campground Host in the Northern Territory

Environment & Conservation Regular - less than 6 months Darwin NT

About this opportunity

#Want a unique volunteering experience in some of the most beautiful and remote areas of Australia?

Come join us as a Campground Host in the Northern Territory!

Picture yourself exploring the ancient landscapes of Central Australia or taking a dip in crystal-clear pools in the tropical Top End. It's not not just the majestic landscapes that make our Campground Host program so special. You’ll forge connections with our amazing rangers and all the adventurous travellers who visit the parks and be part of the team that manages the most incredible landscapes in Australia.

What will I be doing? The campground host role varies depending on the location, but wherever it is, you’ll be providing invaluable assistance to our Park Rangers as the "eyes and ears" of the campground to ensure visitors have a safe and enjoyable time.

In exchange for free camping, you’ll spend a few hours each day completing tasks such as:

*greeting guests and helping them find their campsite *providing information about the park and the local area *doing routine maintenance and making sure campsite is clean and tidy *liaising with park rangers regarding site conditions, facilities and any issues

Outside of that, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the park and get to know it like a local!

When can I go? Our program is seasonal (May – September) when the weather is cool and dry. Placements at each park are usually 3 weeks minimum.

You'll have the flexibility to choose from a range of parks and dates that suit your availability, so you can tailor your experience to your needs. You could start in the Red Centre and then head up to the Top End to really experience all the NT has to offer!
