About this opportunity
Girl Guiding offers values-based programs to girls aged 5 to 18. The focus is on building physical, practical and people skills as part of self-development. Units of girls meet on a weekly basis during school terms at Bunbury Guide Hall and the Hall Committee provides valuable support which allows the Leaders to focus on their work with the girls. Maintaining the hall, which was built in 1958, is an expensive and time-consuming process and we would love help to do this as efficiently and economically as possible. If supporters are likely to interact with the Guides, they may require Working with Children and Police Checks.

The Hall Committee needs people to take on the usual roles of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, as well as someone to manage hall bookings by outside organisations - these are our main souce of income. In addition, we would welcome support from those with trade skills who can help with ongoing maintenance. Although Girl Guides is an all-female organisition, we welcome men and women in any of these positions.
National Police Certificate and WWC payable by Agency.
Committee meetings are approximately 2 hours long and held once a term. There are tasks to be completed between meetings and Busy Bees are held a couple of times a year which receive some limited support from parents. Dates and times are negotiated to suit those involved but are usually weekday evenings or daytime at weekends so this position would suit someone looking for a volunteer experience who is working during the day.
