About the Program

Are you interested in assisting Ladies in our Woodshed Group? Instructing and encouraging individual clients on projects they have found and helping them with sizes and types of wood to use. To be aware of OH&S guidelines and the operation of power tools in the Shed. The role will occasionally involve supporting events, including setup and pack up and facilitate activities as required.

Key Tasks:

  • Providing a welcoming and friendly response to the community, staff, and other volunteers
  • Assist with the setup, pack up and cleaning in the shed every session
  • Report all incidents, hazards, near misses and accidents as soon as reasonably practicable.

Skills/Knowledge/Personal Qualities:

  • Woodworking skills
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage time
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to relate to a diverse range of people.

Time commitment and location

Elizabeth House Positive Ageing Centre - 112 Elizabeth Road, Christie Downs. Friday Mornings 10 am -12 pm.

Special Conditions:

  • The successful applicant must possess and provide a Department of Human Services (DHS) Aged Care Sector clearance prior to an offer of the position (This can be organised for you)
