Brig Amity Volunteers Meet and Greet
About this opportunity
Do you enjoy the outdoors and meeting new people? We invite you to join our team as a valued volunteer on the Brig Amity and be an ambassador for the WA Museum. While being protected from the elements in the ship's galley, your role is to welcome visitors to the Amity, to explain what is on board the ship, its history and its role in the foundation of Albany.
Your duties would include greeting visitors and introducing them to the Brig Amity and rest of the Museum site as well as general overseer duties. General tourist and historical information about Albany.
You will be fully supported by Management and Visitor Services Officers during your shift but need to be able to work independently, while being part of a team.
A travel reimbursement is available per shift.
Additional requirements
Ability to use steep stairs into/out of below decks area.
Interest in the history of Albany and of the Brig Amity is valuable, along with a genuine desire to welcome visitors from all cultures.
The Brig Amity is open during museum hours 10am – 4pm, 7 days a week and is staffed each day with an AM and PM shift. Uniform is provided.
