About this opportunity
ReLove is a registered charity started 2.5 years ago to solve both an environmental and social issue on our doorstep. ReLove is rethinking how we support people moving out of crisis into long-term stable housing by providing free rescued furniture and household items to 15 families per week in a 24 hour turn around time. This means that no one sleeps on the floor in their new home. And we rescue over 2000 tonnes of furniture from landfill a year. Good for people, good for the planet.
We have a range of roles available for volunteers, including;
assisting clients in our “free shop” in choosing how they would like to furnish their homes
packing soft furnishings and kitchen items
moving furniture into our client’s homes, including carrying furniture and household items, assembling furniture, and making beds
ReLove also need help with writing newsletters, writing of other marketing and communications pieces, event organising and fundraising.

It's a small organisation, volunteers interact with the clients we support, the ReLove founders and both corporate and community volunteers. You meet new people every time! Being at the grass roots level, volunteers can genuinely see the impact their work has on the organisation and the individuals ReLove supports. Its fun, its busy, you can get your steps up and you are contributing to addressing both an environmental and social issue.
Wednesday - Fridays 8:30 - 2 ideally but a couple of hours is also OK if that's all the time you have!
