Polish Speaking Volunteers

About this opportunity

We are seeking people who can speak Polish to provide support and companionship to residents at our Seaton and West Lakes Aged Care home.

The resident companion volunteer will liaise with the Leisure and Lifestyle Team to provide one to one support and companionship to residents from a Polish background to maintain and enhance the emotional and social-wellbeing of residents based on their individual needs, interests and cultural backgrounds.

Duties include:

• Establish rapport with the resident through actively listening to them talk about topics of their interest

• Initiate and lead conversation based on residents individual interests

• Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents as required

• Engage in an individual activity of interest to the resident if they choose


Additional requirements

Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *. NDIS screening check .

* Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.
