Gardening Program Support
About this opportunity
The gardening program support volunteer will collaborate with the leisure and lifestyle team and volunteer gardening program to assist in the delivery of gardening programs and linked activities which are designed to maintain and enhance the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of residents based on their individual needs, interests and cultural backgrounds.
Duties include:
• Assist in the setup/pack up and preparation of activities under the direction of the leisure and lifestyle team and volunteer gardening group
• Assist in the delivery of gardening activities to reflect individual cultural, spiritual, religious and personal preferences
• Assist and encourage residents to attend
• Provide appropriate support and guidance to residents during activities to support them to participate to their full potential

*As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Voluntary Workers Personal Accident Insurance).
*Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.
