Reception Volunteer
About this opportunity
The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this opportunity on behalf of St Mary's House of Welcome (SMHOW).
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensure each visitor to SMHOW receives a warm and friendly welcome on arrival
- Answer the phone and transfer or take messages as required and ensure it's passed on in timely manner
- Provide a non-judgmental and respectful environment for SMHOW service users and visitors
- Provide friendly and warm reception and client service to our client service users and assist with some ad hoc administration support
Skills and Attributes:
- Confidence in dealing with the general public, including individuals who are distressed and/or displaying challenging behaviour
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all people
Additional requirements
Covid-19 vaccination . Flu vaccination . National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
• Minimum 18 years old
• Complete application form
• Complete or provide a current Victorian Police Check and follow renewal procedures
• Complete a Working with Children’s Check or add SMHOW to your existing Check
• Participate in an interview
• Participate in an induction and any ongoing training required
We are in urgent need of the following support: - Tuesday 8.30am - 12.30pm - An on-call receptionist available to cover shifts as needed when regular volunteers are unavailable 8.30am - 12.30pm
