Home Tutor - Adult Migrant English Program - Ellenbrook

Support adult migrants and refugees from CALD backgrounds to acquire English language skills and link up to their community!
The Home Tutor Scheme involves training and matching tutors with newly arrived migrants and refugees.
Duties:
- Make initial contact to arrange a meeting in your student's Ellenbrook - based home (or after class)
- meet with the student and provide English language support
- maintain regular contact with the Volunteer Coordinator
- tutor adult migrants in students' houses for one hour a week.
All books, learning materials, training and ongoing support will be provided. You will receive ongoing support and have access to a range of books, worksheets and learning materials.
Additional requirements
National Police Certificate *.
Commitment of one to two hours a week of your time
Police Clearance Check from the Screening Unit of the Department of Education (at a cost of $10 which will be reimbursed) Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check required.
We ask you to commit one to two hours a week of your time with a client to help improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
