About this opportunity

The Western Ringtail Possum 2024 Autumn Tally is on again and we need your support to help save this critically endangered species. This will be Wirambi Landcare's 8th time coordinating this important project. From April 7 to May 4 you will have the opportunity to be involved in this program.

The tally is a citizen science program aimed at increasing our knowledge and data about these critically endangered species which are found no where else in the world. This information will be used to make better informed decisions about the conservation effort of the species and you the general public can play an important role in this.

This volunteer role is extremely flexible as it can be done within the comfort of your own home or during your walks around the neighbourhood or local reserve. The survey will take 30 minutes of your time which you can once or twice a week.

What we will do for to get you ready; Workshops (online or in person) Provide data collection sheets Training in how to complete the data sheets Assistance in identify a Western Ringtail Possum

Driver's Licence (C) .

Time Required

This role only takes 30 minutes of your time to look and observe for Western Ringtail Possums. You can survey once or twice a week in the late afternoon or evening, whatever works for you and what you are willing to commit too.
