Social Support Group Volunteer
About this opportunity
Peninsula Health's Social Support Group is a Community Health Centre based support service that is designed to:
- provide an opportunity for people to meet together to participate in activities of their choice
- assist in maintaining independence and social involvement of those who attend
- provide carers with support and day respite
- provide skill retention and development, outings and a range of activities, promoting self-esteem to clients. Volunteer Position Aim: • To create a welcoming atmosphere for clients by being a friendly face and helping hand • To assist the SSG Staff with daily activities & outings • To encourage clients to be as independent as possible. • To stimulate and encourage conversation
Additional requirements
Covid-19 vaccination . Flu vaccination . National Police Certificate *.
Police Check will be completed by Peninsula Health with no cost to volunteer.
* May be arranged via the Organisation. Details to be provided on expression of interest.
Time Required
3 hours/week Monday – Friday mornings and afternoons
