Description

Key duties:

  • Respond to incoming in-field volunteering offers
  • Assess applicant’s abilities in relation to the needs of the organisation (in consultation with Administration Manager)
  • Interview applicants (usually by phone) and provide them with information about the role
  • Process new volunteer registrations and update all information
  • Forward new enquiries for the volunteer online chat-group to the group Administrator
  • Issue email updates to volunteers as required
  • Conduct on-line training sessions for new in-field volunteers
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions for new in-field volunteers
  • Present informational and educational talks to small to medium community groups

Skills and experience:

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise work effectively
  • Sound Microsoft Office skills
  • Desirable : experience with wildlife
  • Desirable : experience working with volunteers
  • Desirable : experience presenting training sessions
  • Desirable : experience with presentations to small to medium groups

Training

  • Willingness to participate in training to understand the role of an in-field volunteer

This is a long-term role for a reliable person that has time, energy and drive to give to the position.

Applicants from the Greater Melbourne area are preferred to enable the provision of hands-on training in treating wombats.


Additional requirements

This is a remote position working from your own home and using your own phone and internet.

Ability to travel to locations - for in-field volunteer training or informational presentations is necessary.

Time Required

20-25 hours per month
