Volunteer Mentor

Mentoring & Advocacy Regular - more than 6 months Melbourne VIC

About this opportunity

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Women and Mentoring (WAM).

The program aims to support women, transwomen and non-binary people (“women”) at their own pace by providing a trusted mentoring relationship with a screened and trained community volunteer who also identifies as a woman. This relationship encourages self-determination and self-advocacy to assist women to address the underlying issues behind their offending, and meet their social and wellbeing goals.

Volunteers identify as women, non-binary or gender diverse, are non-judgemental and open to the differences of others, are empathetic listeners and are able to commit for 12 months to the program. We encourage volunteers from all walks of life to join the program, all age groups, cultural backgrounds, First Nations women and women with various lived experiences
