About this opportunity

Enjoy the great outdoors and spend time in the sunshine as you walk alongside elderly residents from HammondCare aged care home in Miranda.

You'll be helping people to maintain their mobility as well as their healthy wellbeing and confidence as you take in the sights of the broader grounds and coffee shop. No fitness level required as this is a social outing with light paced exercise.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme is funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *. NDIS screening check .

18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare plus NDIS Worker Screening Check • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination will be required (Two (2) doses) •

* May be arranged via the Organisation. Details to be provided on expression of interest.
Time Required

Ideally you'll be available for one hour each week, We can be flexible on the day that suits you.

Training

Training is provided as well as ongoing support by a local Volunteer Coordinator. We offer an extensive training program, including an NDIS module so you will be well equipped as a volunteer.
