Learner Mentor - Secondary school
About this opportunity
The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Banyule Community Health - Himilo Community Connect program.
We are looking for experience adults who are passionate to make a difference in the life of the younger generation.
Covid19's lock down has impacted many students especially in their academic, social and personal development where these students may be seen by many as 'trouble-makers' by their peers or school communities.
We believe these students have the potential to excel in their life if they are being assisted by dedicated mentors. Being able to make connection and understand the younger generation and the community's values and expectations are important as this would assist any potential volunteers to work with these marginalized students.
We need a minimum of 2 hours per fortnight for you to make connections and assist the students in their academic, personal and social development.
