Doncare Opportunity Shops Delivery Driver
About this opportunity
Be part of a fun and friendly team that provides an essential service to the Doncaster Op Shop Program. This role involves transporting donated items between people’s homes, the Depot and the shops. The program couldn’t operate without our amazing and highly valued Truck Drivers.
Key Duties:
• Based at the Mitcham warehouse, this position involves driving the Doncare Op Shop truck, collecting donated items (including furniture) from the local area (Cities of Whitehorse and Manningham) and delivering it to the two Opportunity Shops in Mitcham and Templestowe. • Removing and transporting unsuitable furniture, pick-up metals and electricals tubs, take away excess stock or rubbish and drop off tested and tagged electrical items. • Other tasks include home furniture collections, furniture deliveries, the sorting of items that are taken to the depot, and tip and metal runs.

Key Requirements:
• Current Victorian driver’s licence and sound driving history
• Feel confident driving an Isuzu truck (truck licence is not required)
• Must be physically capable of lifting and moving furniture and packages (<25kg)
• Experience in Opportunity Shop operations (not essential)
• Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• High integrity and reliability
Conditions of Appointment
Your offer of appointment at Doncare is subject to:
• A six-month probationary period.
• A satisfactory Criminal History Check (renewed every three years)
• A Working with Children Check prior to commencement. Doncare has a legal and moral responsibility to ensure the safety of all children in accordance with the Child Safe Standards and expects all staff and volunteers to commit to this standard and understand their duty of care obligations.
• COVID-19 Vaccination compliance according to Doncare policy and guidelines
• A current Driver’s License and sound driving history
• Qualifications and credentials completed and verified
• This Position Description will be reviewed from time to time in keeping with changing requirements.
