About this opportunity
The ACVVS program at Sydney MCS serves culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) residents who may be isolated due to limited family support and language and cultural barriers. Sydney MCS recruits, trains, and supports volunteers to visit eligible residents in aged care facilities or at home. The Volunteer Community Visitor would be matched with recipients according to language and cultural background.
Essential Criteria: • Respect the rights of the client including confidentiality, privacy and maintain dignity. • Exercise a duty of care at all times. • Communication skills (listening and speaking skills). • Emotional qualification skills, teamwork, reporting skills, community service skills, and other skills that will be helpful in assisting seniors and the elderly.
Requirements: • Complete a mandatory Police check. • COVID-19 VACCINE (third vaccination) or booster is a MUST • Training provided.
Additional requirements
Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *.
COVID-19 VACCINE (third vaccination) or yearly flu vaccine is MUST
1 hour/week or 2 hours/fortnight.
