Trishaw Pilot/Cyclists
About this opportunity
Our volunteers have the opportunity to positively impact the elderly or people with disabilities by giving free trishaw rides on e-bikes. Full training is provided. Our pilots are everyone from directors to senior citizens and students (18yrs +)
Pilot: able to ride a bicycle. A friendly disposition, able to converse with the elderly and those with disability. Able to follow procedures and guidelines. Non-rider position: Ride Coordinators assist with loading unloading trishaws, showing passengers how to get on/off, clean trishaws to COVID safe standards in between rides, meet & greet passengers, taking passenger bookings, answer questions from passersby. Complete the Ride Register and ensure everyone scans the SAFE WA app before riding. We give trishaw rides at many locations around Perth; you can select days and times to suit you.
Additional requirements
Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *.
Commit to a minimum 6-8hrs per month (approx. two shifts) for a year or more.
Able to communicate and interact with the elderly and those with disability.
A happy disposition, and able to get along with people.
Have a mobile phone and email address.
Some computer skills required as we use an online volunteer management system.
Ideally 6-8hrs per month. Approx. two shifts.
