**The program **The In Search of Safety program was developed by Red Cross to help build awareness and understanding of the real situations facing people who come to Australia to seek asylum. It aims to clarify misinformation and challenge misunderstandings surrounding asylum seekers through thought-provoking presentations, engaging group activities and enlightening real-life stories, in order to increase community cohesion and cultivate a more welcoming Australia.
**The opportunity **This role suits someone over the age of 18 who is a good listener and presenter with great public speaking skills who can commit to 2 hours a fortnight. You will help to improve public understanding of asylum seekers, refugees and migration by delivering interactive sessions in school forums.
**The impact **As part of the In Search of Safety Program you will contribute to changing the perception of your local community regarding people seeking safety in our country and around the world. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World’s largest humanitarian network.
