About this opportunity

The committee members meet once a month at 6.00 pm for a Committee meeting (with a small amount of pre reading before the meeting), plus a further few hours to keep up with developments. More time is available if you would like to be more involved in day to day activities.

In accepting the position, Management Committee members undertake to provide sound governance and effective leadership to the organisation by ensuring that the organisation has clear strategic directions and achievable plans in line with its purpose and values.


Additional requirements

Although no specific skills are required, experience in one or more of the following areas will be an advantage – interest in serving and helping in a community organisation, community development, social media, financial management, strategic planning, risk management, legal requirements, information management and technology, quality assurance, marketing, human resources, asset and facility management, grant writing, or fundraising.
You will need access to email and computer systems that allow you to communicate in between meetings and participate in on-line meetings when required.
Your personal qualities include integrity, credibility, and a passion for the local community.

Time Required

2 hours per month for the Committee Meeting held in the first week of the month on a weekday from 6.00 P.M. to 8.00 P.M, plus a few further hours for reading the material (flexible).
