Toy Library Assistant
About this opportunity
The Toy Library is a resource for families in the local community that provides educational equipment and toys for children. The aim of the library is to support families in offering families high quality equipment that encourages play in the home without the cost of purchasing toys themselves. Families are able to borrow up to ten toys at a time from a large range including games, puzzles, dress ups, bikes and many other items.
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic volunteer to help out in a Toy Library in Springvale. Your duties would include: assess & clean toys, organise shelves and displays, label new toys, welcome members and potential new members.
We would love to have regular volunteers who can become a friendly & familiar face for our members.
Toy library opening hours are: Mon to Fri 10-1pm and Sat 10.00-12pm
Additional requirements
National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check *.
We are seeking volunteers to;
*Assist our families when borrowing toys
*Record loans and returns of toys using a computer database (full training given)
*Check toys for missing pieces or breakages
*Clean and re-shelving toys
*Help administration that is needed to run the toy library
*Support our community events
4 - 6 hours per week or as negotiated
