Organisation description: Community & Arts Centre located in Altona providing a diverse range of arts, community and sustainability programs and projects.
Job description: Joel Garden Gurus is a group of gardeners who take care of the ornamental gardens at Louis Joel Arts & Community. There is no cost to join or to participate in activities. Members are welcome to garden at any time during the week that fits with their schedule. Help with general tasks such as watering and weeding are also welcomed..
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the maintenance of the garden
- Assist with new plantings
- Assist with yard maintenance
Duties may include:
- Watering
- Weeding
- Planting
- Dead heading
- Bins
- Yard maintenance
- Garden maintenance
- Support staff during activities
Location: 5 Sargood St Altona
Skills required:
- Interest in gardening
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Reliability as a team member.
Time required: A few hours a week (very flexible)
Commitment required: Regular – more than 6 months
Other requirements
- Garden Induction with Garden Gurus
- Working with children Check
- Police check may be required (police check can be arranged by Louis Joel Arts & Community)
