Desktop Support Officer

About this opportunity

We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Officer to volunteer with our organization, based in the Sydney office.. This role gives the opportunity to support the organization with IT hardware deployment, support and training.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on hardware and software support to our internal staff
  • Installing, moving, adding and changing equipment and software
  • Perform proactive and reactive troubleshooting to identifying potential problems
  • The ability to understand and interpret customer queries, provide suitable support and guidance, and escalate as required
  • Work as part of our team to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal customers
  • Providing support to staff in a face to face capacity on the ground and remotely over the phone with support tools such as TeamViewer and Remote Desktop
  • Configuring and Installing personal computers, mobile devices, software and peripheral equipment
  • Policing security in accordance with the national IT procedures and policies
  • Adhering to established SLA's with the business and key stakeholders for timely resolution of issues
  • Engaging with software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Network knowledge to assist with diagnosing faults
  • Computer hardware experience to diagnose faults and communicate with vendors for remediation
  • knowledge of the Microsoft desktop environment and Microsoft Office suite
  • Exposure to Active Directory and IT ticketing systems
  • Outstanding skills in troubleshooting, organizational and time management
  • Demonstrate ability to understand an issue and identify potential solutions
  • Have a passion for providing the best customer experience and ability to communicate effectively
  • The ability to understand and interpret customer queries, provide suitable support and guidance, and escalate as required
  • Be willing to travel to our offices to provide support
