About this opportunity

Aged Care Volunteer program at Sydney MCS serves culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) residents who may be isolated by limited family support, and language and cultural barriers.

Sydney MCS recruits, trains and supports volunteers to visit eligible residents either in an aged care facility or at home. The Volunteer Community Visitor is matched with a Community Resident according to language and cultural backgrounds and possibly other interests throughout the Sydney Metropolitan area.

Criteria: • Respect the rights of the client, including confidentiality and privacy, and maintain dignity. • Exercise a duty of care at all times. • Communication skills (listening and speaking skills). • Emotional qualification skills, teamwork, reporting skills, listening skills and other skills that will be helpful in assisting the senior community.

Requirements: • A third dose of COVID-19 vaccine or two doses of COVID-19 vaccine plus a yearly FLU vaccine is a MUST. • Complete a mandatory Police check. • Training provided


Additional requirements

Covid-19 vaccination . National Police Certificate *.

Training
