About this opportunity

As a reception volunteer, you are the face of WA Wildlife and will be the first point of contact for our visitors. You'll greet them with a smile, answer their questions, and ensure that they feel welcomed. No prior experience is necessary - we'll provide all the training and support you need to succeed in this role.

Our minimum commitment is just one 3 or 6 hour shift per week, with shifts running between 8am to 8pm. Some of your responsibilities include: Answering all incoming phone calls (15,000 calls per annum) and recording calls in phone log Admitting patients to the WA Wildlife Hospital (6,500 patients per annum) - basic computer skills necessary Processing sales and donations Cleaning the Hospital’s entrance/public viewing spaces Providing advice to members of the public Answering emails and processing booking requests - basic computer skills necessary Data entry - basic computer skills necessary Managing visitor and contractor attendance/sign in Providing clerical support to the veterinary department and triage team


Additional requirements

Registration and uniform fee
If your application is accepted, a $11.00 registration fee is required in addition to a $35.00 uniform fee.
Vaccinations
Volunteers at WA Wildlife do not need proof of Covid-19 vaccination. However, a current tetanus vaccination is recommended.
Volunteers must be 18 and over
You need to be at least 18 years old before applying to volunteer with us

Time Required

minimum of one shift per week (8.00am - 2.00pm or 2.00pm - 8.00pm)
