POSITION OBJECTIVE: Volunteering is time willing given for the common good and without financial gain. In this role at Castlemaine Community House (CCH), you will be supporting the front office staff with answering the door and assisting visitors to CCH to complete their COVID safety registration.
This involves following current COVID 19 safety guidelines and requirements, particularly answering the door and correctly completing COVID Registration for all visitors. The position will be necessary for as long as these COVID measures are in place and will be reviewed as measures change.
RESPONSIBILITES: • Act responsibly. • Respect the organisation values and practices. • Adhere to the relevant Community House policies and procedures. • Ask for support when needed and support other team members. • Follow the Code of Conduct issued by The Victorian Public Sector Commission (VPSC) with effect from 1st June 2015. • Report concerns and provide feedback to the Office Coordinator. • Report all accidents and incidents immediately to the Manger or Office Coordinator. • Contact Community House if your volunteer work cannot be attended, preferably at least 24 hours before due to attend.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA: • Interest in community and assisting people • A welcoming and friendly attitude • Agree to a Working with Children’s Check. • Common-sense approach. • Punctual • Reliable • Sound communication and listening skills
WORKPLACE HEALTH & SAFETY: Volunteers are encouraged to actively promote behaviours, values and attitudes that are supportive of a culture of safety, with each staff member being required to take reasonable care for his/her/their own health, safety and wellbeing and the health and safety and welling of other who may be affected by their action. Public Liability Insurance – covers the organisation’s legal liability to pay damages to a third person (such a member of public or clients of the organisation) for personal injury or property damage accidentally caused by a member of the organisation, including its volunteers.
POLICIES & PROCEDURES: It is every staff member’s responsibility to have knowledge of relevant policies and procedures that relate to their employment. Volunteers are not authorized to speak to the media or complete media releases on behalf of Castlemaine Community House unless permission is given.
