We are currently recruiting for Welcome Officers with the above attributes who reside in the City of Rockingham, City of Kwinana and City of Armadale areas.
We would expect you to:
-Meet our new POOPS clients and their beloved dogs (cats are very rare), face to face at their home
-Provide a welcoming contact point for POOPS and follow our Welcome On boarding checklist to understand the client’s needs, answer questions and set expectations as to our services.
-Take the dog for a walk and assess the nature and ease of walking so we can match up the volunteer walker to the client and dog.
-Upload meeting outcomes and pet assessment findings to our online database for further match up to volunteer walker/s by the Area Coordinator -Update the Lead Welcome Officer and/or Area Coordinator of any emerging issues or suggestions for improvement to keep the on boarding process in line with the wider POOPS values and our ultimate goal of keeping older people and their pets together.
Driver's Licence (C) . National Police Certificate *.
-Drivers licence and access to a vehicle to visit new POOPS clients. (A fuel subsidy/allowance will be payable for POOPS related travel)
-Experience in the care/support/nursing/counselling sectors is favourable, and interest in meeting and talking with older people.
-Basic understanding of pet (mainly dog) behaviour, and/or willingness to learn,
-Resilience, patience and empathy in potentially emotional situations,
-Understanding of POOPS services and/or willingness to learn,
-Minimum basic database and email skills, but training will be provided,
-You will need your own PC/laptop to work from, and a phone to call our clients to arrange a meeting.
Time Commitment/Expectation: 8-20 hours per month, flexible, dependent on new client demand.Type of work
